The department's mission is to effectively detect and treat increasingly frequent and diverse pathologies while respecting patients and their relatives.
Quality teaching is also provided by the department to students as well as to doctors in training for specialist certification by raising awareness of psychological, biological, and social dimensions. The department also supports quality training in psychotherapy.
Organized into 5 services, the department offers a very broad and diversified range of care including hospital care, multidisciplinary outpatient care according to different modalities and intensities, organized according to the principles of community psychiatry, as well as specialized programs and units. The department provides integrated, clinical, and structured quality teaching for doctors in training by raising awareness of psychological, biological, and social dimensions. The department also provides structured theoretical training in the 3 main psychotherapy models as well as individual and group supervisions included in the training curriculum.
The department also offers active support for research pathways linked to a translational and clinical research hub meeting a high level of quality.
Finally, the department seeks to understand the origins of mental disorders with the help of cognitive and affective neurosciences, a true flagship of the Geneva site. To this end, it conducts patient-oriented academic and clinical research meeting a high level of quality.
The Psychiatric Specialties Service offers specialized diagnostic and therapeutic programs in psychiatry and psychotherapy, and contributes to improving care through research and teaching. The service brings together the activities of about 200 employees, organized within 6 medical units/consultations (Emotional Regulation Disorders Unit (TRE), Mood and Anxiety Unit (UHA), Sexual Medicine and Sexology Unit (UMSS), Mental Development Psychiatry Unit (UPDM), Psychotherapeutic Consultation for Families and Couples (COUFAM), and Psychiatry Consultation at the Sleep Medicine Center). The service includes outpatient, day hospital, and inpatient activities.
Job Description
You are interested in the field of psychotherapy and assessment for hospitalized adult patients presenting mood disorders (depressive or bipolar). The position is assigned to the inpatient unit of the Mood and Anxiety Unit, within the Psychiatric Specialties Service.
Psychotherapeutic follow-ups can be conducted according to the systemic psychotherapy model. You also perform clinical evaluations for diagnostic purposes.
You attend interdisciplinary meetings and case discussions and have a specific role in the team due to your skills with families.
Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree in psychology and have a specialist psychologist title in psychotherapy or are in the final stages of training for this, according to the family/systemic therapy orientation.
You have experience with adult patients and ideally have already worked with patients suffering from mood disorders and/or in a hospital setting.
You are able to integrate easily into care teams and demonstrate autonomy and commitment in your work.
You are flexible in managing your follow-ups according to clinical priorities.
You have good skills to cope with stress effectively and proactively, knowing how to work with various professionals in medical and care teams.
