The Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden with the acute hospital Herisau and the Psychiatric Centre AR in Herisau ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.

We are looking for

In the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy under the nursing management of Ms Evelyne Uhrig, Mr Frank Lynch is seeking a Certified Nursing Specialist HF/FH for the general ward with a workload of 80-100%, starting 1 September 2026 or by arrangement.

Your tasks

• Planning, implementing, evaluating and concluding the nursing process including providing primary nursing with a focus on relationship building and resource orientation
• Accompanying and supporting patients in everyday life and crisis situations as well as shaping and promoting a health-promoting ward environment
• Adhering to nursing standards and working with nursing diagnoses
• Creating the necessary documentation in ORBIS NICE and forwarding relevant information
• Accompanying and leading individual and group activities as well as applying complementary medical methods
• Recording services according to specifications
• Close and transparent collaboration with all professionals involved in treatment, including external contacts
• Carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic measures according to medical prescription
• Participating in internal clinical working and project groups upon delegation
• Contributing to and implementing ward-specific projects with a focus on psychiatric nursing
• Introducing new employees
• Participating in internal training, supervisions and team discussions. Commitment to personal and professional development
• Supporting trainers in educational tasks

• Completed training as a Certified Nurse, or you are a health and nursing professional
