"I really appreciate this recognition"

Alessandra, an incredibly successful season is behind you. It has now been about one and a half months since you were crowned world champion – how does that feel?

It was incredible – all the emotions and having so many friends and acquaintances on site. It has always been a dream of mine to win the World Championship.

What went through your mind when you crossed the finish line?

On the one hand, I was exhausted when I crossed the finish line, but of course I was also incredibly happy and satisfied. I simply feel a huge gratitude towards everyone who was involved and contributed to this success.

To have such a strong season, especially after a cruciate ligament operation: hand on heart, did you think that was possible?

I knew that with a clean rehab, discipline, and a lot of willpower I could make a great comeback. But that it would be enough for two world championship medals, a World Cup victory at home, and so many wins, that is really amazing, especially considering that the operation was not even a year ago.

Next Thursday, October 30, 2025, you will be officially welcomed and honored for your achievements at the Länderpark in Stans. What does this occasion mean to you?

I really appreciate this recognition. Many people took the time to organize the whole thing – that is anything but a matter of course for me. I am very much looking forward to a cool evening and many great encounters at the Länderpark – so come by.

You travel a lot. How important is closeness and connection to our region to you?

As an athlete, you are on the road all over the world, so it is always special and simply nice to come home. Every time it makes me aware of how privileged we are here in Switzerland and especially in Nidwalden.

The NKB has been accompanying you as a sponsor for quite some time now, and together we have celebrated many successes. What does this collaboration mean to you?

The long-term partnership with NKB is very valuable to me. NKB and I represent the same values and stand for the same cornerstones, which is very important to me. From the beginning, NKB has been an important supporter of my career and I am proud to carry them on my head or rather on my helmet.
