Project background

To develop, lead and manage carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects at sus.lab, we are looking for an impact-driven senior project manager with expertise in CDR, be it individual CDR approaches or CDR markets, policies, and regulations.

Job description

In your role at sus.lab, you will:

  • Develop and acquire new projects in and around CDR
  • Manage and work on projects focused on various aspects of CDR
  • Collaborate with and manage project partners from industry, policy, and academia
  • Be responsible for deliverables and budgets in your projects
  • Form a link to academic CDR expertise at ETH Zurich

Your profile

You are a great fit if you:

  • Have 3-5 years of work experience in strategy, entrepreneurship, policy, or technology in the context of sustainability, preferably with a recent focus on CDR
  • Have good analytical skills
  • Are accustomed to learning about new technologies and methods and delving into technical details
  • Know how to manage and engage a variety of national and international stakeholders
  • Are fluent in English; German skills are a plus

We offer

CDR has been one of our focus areas since 2019. Starting with work on point-source CCS on waste-to-energy plants in Switzerland, which will be able to achieve significant amounts of CDR due to the biogenic fraction of the waste. We have since been involved in numerous other high-level CDR projects, focused on technology, business models, regulatory environments, infrastructure needs and public perception:

  • We have initiated and run the Carbon Removal ClimAccelerator, Europe’s first and only start-up accelerator program solely focused on CDR
  • We are a leading partner in DemoUpCARMA, a project that demonstrates the capture, transport, and storage of 1’000 tons of biogenic CO2 from Switzerland to Iceland
  • We have assessed CDR approaches and technologies and evaluated strategic options for activity in the CDR space for a large European utility
