About the job
Employee in Work Operation 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 staff with diverse professional profiles. JuWe is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pfäffikon Prison (GFP) operates, in addition to classic pre-trial detention, a security department for all types of detention. The security department houses detainees from all over Switzerland who require special personnel care and structural measures due to mental illness, increased flight risk, or high potential for violence. The GFP is currently under renovation, and reopening is planned for mid-2026.
To strengthen our work operation, we are looking for a motivated, committed, and authentic personality starting March 2026 or by arrangement.
Your field of activity
- Accompanying detainees in simple packaging, folding, renovation, and other tasks; occasional transport duties
- Acquisition of orders as well as ensuring quality and safety standards
- Taking on administrative tasks such as writing reports and assessing detainees
- Deployment without night shifts, with occasional weekend support as part of care
- Active participation in shaping a respectful, clear, and reliable care culture in correctional services
What you bring
- Ideally, you have completed a vocational training in a craft and already have a forklift license or are willing to obtain one
- You express yourself confidently in German, both spoken and written; additional language skills are an advantage
- Good IT skills and confident handling of MS Office are among your strengths
- You consciously manage proximity and distance to detainees and convince through high social competence and assertiveness
- Physical and mental resilience characterize you, as well as the willingness to work on some days, weekends, and public holidays
- Your reputation is impeccable (no entries in the criminal or debt register)
