Department Head Operations Dispatch, Security Center and Lodge 80 - 100%At Zurich West Prison (GZW), we serve the public 365 days a year and 24 hours a day. Our tasks and challenges are diverse – we master them together as a team and with high professionalism.
The Department of Operations Dispatch, Security Center and Lodge is the central hub of the prison. It ensures that transports, deliveries, deployment and effects planning, as well as access and alarm processes, mesh smoothly. This guarantees the orderly running of daily prison operations and makes a central contribution to the safety, stability, and efficiency of the operation.
We are looking for a dynamic and committed leader as a member of the management team for the leadership of Operations Dispatch, Security Center and Lodge, starting immediately or by arrangement.
This is your field of activity
- You take over the strategic, personnel, and operational management of the Department of Operations Dispatch, Security Center and Lodge
- You ensure that prison operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently at all times
- You plan, control, and coordinate all organizational, logistical, and administrative processes – from transports and deliveries to deployment planning
- As a leader, you promote and develop your employees and shape a professional, motivating, and safety-conscious team culture
- With a clear view of structures and processes, you drive the further development of the department and the digitization of central processes
- You are responsible for the budget, plan resources purposefully, and ensure economical use of funds
- In close cooperation with internal departments such as security, administration, and legal services, as well as external partners like police, judiciary, and suppliers, you create functioning interfaces
- Additionally, you represent your department in the management team and contribute your expertise to overarching projects and strategic topics
This is what you bring
- You have completed basic training (EFZ) and advanced training, for example a federal specialist certificate, bachelor's degree, or leadership diploma
- Ideally, you have an additional qualification in the field of correctional services, security, or law or are willing to familiarize yourself with these areas
- Thanks to several years of professional and leadership experience – preferably over two levels – you navigate confidently in demanding structures
- You have pronounced organizational and analytical skills and keep an overview even in complex processes
- Making reliable decisions and taking responsibility are natural for you
- You think networked, act solution-oriented, and bring projects to a targeted conclusion
- Communication is one of your strengths: you express yourself confidently in German both orally and in writing; additional language skills are an advantage
- Flexibility and commitment are natural for you, and you take on leadership on-call duties
