UAV Regulatory Affairs and Certification Manager

To complete our creative and dynamic team in Lausanne, we are seeking a:

Regulatory Affairs and Certification Manager (100%)

Starting date: 01.01.2023

Your role:

Your mission will be to ensure that Flyability and its products are always compliant with local regulations in target markets, and that we maintain our competitive advantage by monitoring and lobbying standards committees.

What you will own:

Product and Supply Chain Compliance


  • Defining which regulations and certifications to comply with to sell our products in the targeted markets (e.g. CE, FCC, US-Chinese ban, Reach, RoHS, export control, DGR), working in close relation with the sales,logistics and procurement departments.

  • Advising the product management team and CTO on industry- or use-case-specific regulatory requirements, risks and opportunities, and helping define new products matching at best customer needs (outdoor flying, NDT standards, explosive environments, etc)

  • Actively monitoring and participating in standards committees/organizations when relevant to product design and its utilization (e.g. IATA, FAA, EASA, ASME, ISO) to ensure future product compliance and competitive advantage.

Certification Management


  • Defining design requirements for the R&D Department coming from regulations/certifications needs covering the whole Product Life Cycle.

  • During product development, being the expert for design engineers for any compliance or certification question; connecting to appropriate external expert when needed.

  • Working in close relation with suppliers (e.g. battery supplier) to ensure compliance of developed components.

  • Obtaining the expected certifications by driving or performing the relevant tasks (planning, documentation, recording, tests, coordinating 3rd parties, etc) related to product certification for new products and products in serial life.

Your profile:


  • 3+ years of experience in similar roles

  • Engineering Degree

  • Fluent in english, French is a plus

  • Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders
