Head of Bachelor and Master of Arts in Music Programs, Specializations in School Music I and II (30–50%)

Your tasks:
- As head, you supervise all BA and MA specializations in School Music I and II and advise around 30 students in this field
- You are responsible for the artistic and pedagogical concept of the curricula as well as the corresponding organizational and coordination tasks
- You are responsible for maintaining, evaluating, and further developing the study offerings
- As a member of the institute management, you conduct employee discussions and maintain continuous exchange with the lecturers
- You maintain contacts within the University of Music with the Jazz and Schola Cantorum Basiliensis institutes as well as with the University of Teacher Education and the University of Basel and other cooperation partners
- As a member of the management team of the Classical Institute, you lead examinations, participate in committees, and are present at various events
- Organizational tasks are part of the job profile, with the student administration team supporting you
- The position is prospectively linked with teaching activities in the Secondary Level II subject didactics module
- Depending on the profile, the position will be combined with the program management for the MA specialization in Choir Conducting
Your profile:
- You are a communicative and team-oriented personality with a university degree in music
- You have your own artistic and pedagogical profile and several years of professional experience in the field of school music at Secondary Level II
- You are familiar with school curricula and are open to continuing and deepening existing cooperations
- You are capable of efficient organization and ideally have leadership experience in the higher education sector
- You are rooted in the regional and national education landscape and familiar with the Bologna system
- You have a high level of language competence in written and spoken German as well as very good English skills (additional foreign languages are welcome)
- You maintain an empathetic approach with all stakeholders and have a confident and assured demeanor
- You are a team player, resilient, discreet, and think and work independently
- You are able to oversee complex processes and prioritize among diverse tasks
- Higher education didactic qualification or willingness to acquire it within the first years (standard for professors)
