In this role, you participates in the technical setup and structure of the Manufacturing Data Systems (MDS) to enable the Start-up, Commissioning and Validation of the new Large-Scale Manufacturing facility to be located at the Solothurn, Switzerland campus
Engineer, BES Automation
The scope includes support of the technical strategy for execution of the MDS scope aligned with the Global Biogen Execution Systems (BES) approach of collecting data for the process and information systems within the Next Generation Manufacturing Operations.
The Engineer will contribute to the technical alignment between the different work packages across the automation project by ensuring standards are followed across the team. The Engineer may also be responsible for overseeing & reviewing contractors/intgretors work during design, construction, commissioning, and validation.
You support end to end manufacturing of biologics and small molecule manufacturing for ongoing campaigns and tech transfers. You ensure robustness of existing systems infrastructure by supporting system upgrades and modifications required for alignment with other technological initiatives impacting data systems.
The person support capability enhancement projects for new areas and processes, as well as user outreach and training programs. To achieve the goals of the group, this role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position employs a wide range of engineering, biological, and information technology (IT) disciplines.
You are also responsible for Coordinating technical interfaces with the Data Management (SynTQ, Simca Online, Statistica, InfoBatch), Historian system (PI), Building Management System (BMS), Central Alarm Management System (TopView), and the Manufacturing Control Network (MCN).
You have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline with 2-4 years of industry experience.
