Position Summary

As a Packaging Food safety expert, you have proven scientific expertise in chemical analyses of traces with a special focus on Gas and Liquid Chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry with skills in identification of unknowns in untargeted analysis at expert level. You will be able to work specifically with state-of-the-art equipment like a LC/GC Orbitrap. You will have to understand the different aspects of packaging and/or recycling technologies of polymers (e.g mechanical, chemical and solvent based) and be well updated about the main challenges in this field. Having a past experience and global network in this field would be a plus. Basic understanding of food contact requirements and/or being able to propose innovative and highly sensitive analytical methods to ensure safety of our materials are important in this role.

A day in the life of a Packaging Food safety expert

  • Identify new innovative and sensitive analytical methods as opportunities for Nestlé in packaging food safety.
  • Deliver functional leadership on packaging food safety in the early phase of projects in R&D
  • Give expert support in food safety with recycled material for packaging
  • Proven deep knowledge of untargeted GC and LCMS methodologies and experience with structure elucidation of unknowns.
  • Project management for projects within packaging food safety and recycling technologies. Develop, plan and organize tasks within the project work streams, engage with various stakeholders across R&D and beyond, share knowledge, convene team members for alignment, propose, coordinate, plan and deliver on-time objectives and deliverables
  • Deliver accurate and on-time support to packaging food safety requirement
  • Good understanding of food contact regulatory frameworks world-wide and apply them to new packaging material developments at Nestlé.
