In our Pharmacology Oncology Department, we are seeking a Temporary Scientific Associate for approximately 6 months:

 


Job Responsibilities

 


  • Design, perform, and interpret pharmacological studies in mice to characterize targets or therapeutic agents in the area of immuno-oncology, including efficacy and PK/PD biomarker studies in mice

  • Responsible for the efficient planning, detailed analysis and accurate documentation of experiments

  • Develop and validate new animal models for immuno-oncology projects including related literature search 

  • Perform surgeries, from cell culture to e.g. stereotactic surgery, orthotopic and heterotopic cell injections

  • Experience in animal breeding (transgenic or not) and necropsy skills is considered a plus

  • Take and prepare biological samples (e.g. brain, liver, blood...) for ex vivo analyses

  • Ability to perform ex vivo experiments such as flow cytometry acquisition and analysis, ELISA, RT-PCR is considered as a plus

  • In vivo imaging skills is preferred (fluorescence and bioluminescence)

  • Demonstrate high flexibility and professional communication

  • Presentation of results in a multidisciplinary environment

 

Candidate's Requirements 

 


  • Scientific research associate in oncology pharmacology with BSc or MS; PhD will not be considered

  • At least 3 years of hands-on research experience in industry or academia 

  • Strong experience in in vivo biology/oncology (stereotactic surgery; knowledge in models of vaccination is considered a plus)

  • Proven track record of adherence to animal welfare and compliance regulations as well as formal qualifications to carry out experimental work according to standard protocols and regulations

  • Preferred experience with small molecules and dosing (po, iv, ip routes)

  • Recognized as an animal experimenter (LTK1 or equivalent)

  • Ability to plan, methodically perform, carefully analyze, accurately document experiments and present results

  • Excellent data management and record-keeping skills

  • Scientifically curious, willingness to learn new techniques and skills

  • Highly flexible and motivated to work in a team

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal people

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)

  • Good communication skills in a multicultural environment
