The St. Gallen Cantonal Police ensures peace, security, and order around the clock in the canton of St. Gallen. It solves crimes and monitors compliance with applicable laws.
How do offender groups move over longer periods? Are there recurring meeting points, common contacts, or similar patterns in other cantons? The Criminal Analysis Department (KAS) deals precisely with these questions. It supports the various departments in crime solving and reduction in the areas of strategic, tactical, and operational criminal analysis.

Operational Criminal Analyst (Data Analysis) (m/f/d)

What to expect
- Collecting, preparing, evaluating, and analyzing communication and other relevant data
- Analyzing and interpreting large data sets (mass data) to identify patterns and connections
- Evaluating crime-relevant information to specifically support investigations through hypotheses and recommendations for action
- Creating court-admissible products (e.g., reports, visualizations)
- Conducting operational criminal analyses and handling complex issues
- Collaborating in interdisciplinary projects and working groups
- Lecturing activities and participation in specialized training and further education
What distinguishes you
- Completed training as a police officer with a federal certificate or a degree in criminal sciences, telecommunications, data science, or a comparable field
- Strong analytical-methodical skills as well as networked, structured thinking
- Quick comprehension, technical understanding, and a reliable, precise working style
- In-depth knowledge and experience in information and communication technology; software applications in GIS, MS Excel, etc.
- Trustworthy, integral personality with a strong flair for handling data and information
- Willingness and perseverance to engage deeply and over a longer period with complex issues
- Confident demeanor as well as strong oral and written communication skills
