EY is looking for an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join our Sustainable Finance team within the Financial Services Business Consulting Practice, to help the financial industry respond to the fast-developing and growing climate risk and sustainable finance agenda – including managing the risks and opportunities from an accelerating transition, responding to new regulation, adapting products and services, and improving transparency and disclosures.

The Opportunity

EY is at the forefront of current trends in Sustainable Finance and we engage with clients at all levels to provide insights and support with these developments. Our Sustainable Finance team brings together a broad range of skillsets including risk and regulatory specialists, reporting experts, and quantitative analysts, and works closely with other EY teams (e.g. Legal, Strategy and Technology consulting teams) to deliver innovative end-to-end solutions.  

 

We deliver lasting benefits to our clients through tailored services in sustainable finance to help address market wide challenges such as sustainability strategies and targets, embedding climate change and ESG in firms’ risk management and control frameworks, designing disclosures, and help business leads develop new products.

 

 

Your key responsibilities

As part of our team you will have the opportunity to work with the world’s leading financial services organizations and to leverage the deep knowledge and wide-ranging skills and experience of your EY colleagues. In doing so, you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

• Acquire and lead Sustainable Finance engagements, provide subject matter expertise and ensure quality of the work delivered to clients


• Understand the range of EY service offerings and actively develop new solutions and identify ways to better serve clients on their sustainability journey


• Leverage your external and EY internal network, develop, and maintain management level client relationships to pro-actively generate and convert opportunities in Sustainable Finance


• Contribute to EYs reputation as a market leader in Sustainable Finance and drive solutions and thought leadership development


• As an influential member of the team, you will also help to create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel team members and help them to develop.
   

To qualify for the role you must have
 

• Min. 8 years of professional experience in sustainability consulting, leading ESG projects in or for financial services companies (e.g. banks, (re-)insurers, wealth and asset managers)


• Strong knowledge of regulatory developments in Sustainable Finance for financial services companies along with industry challenges, existing resources and initiatives


• Experience in risk management processes and frameworks, sustainability disclosures, and/or supporting sustainability data and infrastructure 


• Knowledge of financial and/or non-financial risk management and modelling is an advantage


• Proven ability to effectively manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment 


• Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English (French is an advantage)


• Experience with managing expectation of both internal and external stakeholders


• Ability and appetite to drive business development and contribute to the growth of EY’s solutions


• Strong academic background, a quantitative background is an advantage
