Your new role
As a professional guardian, you manage child and adult protection mandates on behalf of the KESB Region St.Gallen. Through your work, you help people who rely on your support by representing their interests and assisting them in leading as self-determined a life as possible, as far as necessary. In addition, you represent children in legal matters, including paternity and maintenance arrangements, criminal proceedings, or inheritance matters. Furthermore, you provide internal advice to colleagues on legal issues. You will be competently supported in administrative tasks by our specialist service. - have a tertiary degree in law.
- are confident in dealing with crisis and conflict situations.
- enjoy working with a wide variety of people, professionals, and family constellations and can professionally handle divergent expectations.

- bring a willingness to shape, seek challenges, and want to develop professionally and personally.
- are resilient, a team player, empathetic, and have a sense of humor.
- additional training in child or adult protection, mediation, systemic/solution-oriented counseling, social insurance, or mental health issues are valuable additional skills for these tasks.

At the Social Services, the person is at the center of our actions. Our approximately 150 employees provide a wide range of services in the areas of child and adult protection as well as social assistance for the benefit of the city’s population. The professional guardianship with its 60 employees is a department of the Social Services. It carries out guardianship measures on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority Region St.Gallen. We maintain active professional exchanges with various offices inside and outside the city administration.
