Alpiq Holding Ltd. is a Swiss energy company operating throughout Europe. Its activities include the generation and supply of electricity, energy trading, energy management, energy services as well as energy technology. Alpiq Ltd. is a subsidiary of Alpiq Holding Ltd. with headquarters in Olten.

As part of a succession, we are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join us. This role is part of a team of experts, which is instrumental for Alpiq's significant contribution to the energy transition. The role focuses on the electrical engineering aspects of all renewable assets (mostly wind farms and solar farms) across Europe whether it be in the context of greenfield or brownfield projects or an acquisition phase. The role can be based in Olten, Lausanne, Madrid, Paris or Milano. 

Your main responsibilities

  • Leading and taking ownership on all electrical aspects regarding the configuration, design, construction and commissioning of power plants, focused on fulfilling grid compliance and industry/standard norms requirements
  • Specifying contractual owner's electrical requirements to be fulfilled by contractors, including scope of works, calculations and quality/control tests to be implemented
  • Assessing electrical specification of individual equipment and components, together with the technology expert to ensure the validity of the whole power plant design
  • Leading the relation with counterparties linked to electrical aspects as grid operators, technology providers of electrical components and electrical contractors
  • Defining and following up on the scope of works of third party consultants, and validating their work

Your qualifications

  • Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in electrical conceptual design, construction and commissioning of MV and LV systems/grids linked to power plants, including the definition of technical requirements, their review and approval of third parties' design
  • Experience in reviewing, assessing and challenging reports and calculations for electrical dimensioning and design, including the management of external engineers or consultants
  • Good strategic understanding and ability to combine the technical with the commercial view
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, ability to adapt communication to target audience
  • Proactive, flexible and self-driven personality
  • Fluent English required, any additional language a plus
