Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
In our Software Development Center, we develop a next-generation Cloud-ready solution that controls high-precision laboratory measurement instrumentation, collects and processes measurement data. The software is distributed worldwide and supports multiple languages. To further expand our leadership role, we invest in our software platforms for new products. That is why we are looking for a motivated Senior DevOps Engineer - cloud application deployment 80 - 100% (all genders).
You would join us on an exciting journey, building new products from the ground up. You share our high standards for quality and would like to contribute to the development of a software product where testing and quality is not an afterthought but the main ingredient right from the start. This role is based at our global operational Headquarter near Zürich (Nänikon Greifensee). 
In this role, your responsibilities would include: 
  • Plan, design, implement and test application deployment strategies
  • Plan and execute application operations in customer like environment
  • Develop solutions to automated deployment of production and testing environment
  • Evaluate and integrate appropriate tools for monitoring, tracing and diagnosing applications
  • Review and analyze product and system specifications and provide technical recommendations in your field of expertise
  • Assist test automation with appropriate infrastructure solutions
  • Assist in the development of cross infrastructure container orchestration
  • Assist in designing backward compatibility and roll back strategy
  • Guide and train teams on best practices regarding container deployment, testing and management
  • Provide operations support to team members
What You Need to Succeed
Following requirements are necessary for this role: 
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT (FH / BSc, MSc) or related technical/scientific discipline
  • Proficiency in deploying and securing container-based systems such as Docker, Kubernetes on private and public clouds
  • Experience in programming languages and/or scripting languages, e.g. C#, Python, Shell
  • Proficiency with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (preferably in Azure DevOps)
  • Good understanding of large-scale distributed systems
  • Knowledge of operating systems, especially Linux, general networking, cloud infrastructure, system monitoring, and operating CI/CD pipelines 
  • Familiarity with phase models and agile methods 
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) - German is a plus
