Job purpose

Based in our Geneva office as part of the Paper Operator team, you will work very closely with the Front Office Team worldwide, composed by several traders and assistant traders. You will be in daily interaction with the Geneva Execution desk, which is centralising and optimising a worldwide Futures, Options and Physical flow on Utilities business. You will also be the safety net of the team by controlling orders placed on the market. In a reactive and timely manner, you will track and spot any execution error and invite traders to adapt their trading strategy. For PnL purpose you will also be on charge of the good trade allocation internally.

Job Description

  • Join our Middle Office Team in Geneva, collaborating closely with a Front Office team comprising multiple Traders.
  • Engage daily with the Execution desk, centralizing and optimizing global Futures, Options, swaps, and physical flow in the Utilities business.
  • Develop a diverse understanding of commodities in the Power, Gas, and LNG sectors.
  • Act as the safety net for the team by meticulously monitoring each market order, identifying execution errors, and prompting traders to adjust their strategies if necessary.
  • Manually input Top Day trades into our software and manage internal hedge allocations.
  • Reconcile Top Day trades against execution platform files and clearer files.
  • Deliver daily volume and average recaps to worldwide traders, categorized by trading strategy.
  • Interact with Traders and their assistants across offices (Geneva, London) to address queries and handle investigations.
  • Set up new products or contracts based on specifications, in coordination with the IT team.
  • Handle regulation reporting (MIFID and REMIT) and manage broker permission settings and monthly invoice payments.
  • Contribute to project development aimed at enhancing our internal software through collaboration with the IT team or independent work on VBA macros or Python.
  • Generate various reports and statistics.

Qualifications

  • Ideal to have English as a mother tongue; a very good level is mandatory, and French proficiency is a plus.
  • Confidence with numbers and a willingness to deepen knowledge in Utilities Futures, Options, Swaps, and Physical business.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.
  • Proficiency in VBA scripting and debugging is necessary.
  • Python skills are definitely a plus.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Quick and multitasking capabilities are essential.
  • Sense of priorities and a willingness to go the extra mile.
