Job Description

Wealth Credit Management (WCM) at Citi is a newly formed business line to provide integrated end to end credit underwriting, transaction and portfolio management in partnership with all the origination businesses of the Private Bank and Wealth Management of Citi.  We are looking to hire an experienced professional to contribute and perform an analytical role with respect to the oversight and management of data and reporting, associated with the EMEA lending portfolio working within the EMEA LPTM team. This role will report to the EMEA Data Management & Reporting Head.

This is a demanding role in which individual judgment is needed to prepare, assess, and review credit data from the EMEA credit system and from other source systems.  The individual will be expected to review various control reports, asses the data for consistency and accuracy and also to remediate, in a timely manner, any data quality issues as identified through the analysis or via other related/internal parties (from downstream systems).  The key to this role is data management through the credit life-cycle (initiation, disbursement, loan management and portfolio management).

The individual will be expected to review and prepare reports/metrics/data for internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter, who can successfully work in a team environment often under time constraints and be able to take decisions under pressure in the best interest of the shareholder, ensuring adherence to all processes and procedures as well as the integrity and consistency of the supporting data and documentation for a given transaction. There is a significant element of multitasking in this role and the need for constant re-prioritisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting

  • Maintaining the lending portfolio and regulatory reporting requirements in accordance with European regulations.
  • Participate and represent LPTM team for any reporting requirements
  • Work with key stakeholders within the region (Regional I/F teams, Operations / Finance) for any reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with entitlement control systems and End-to-End data lineage and process flows across multiple systems.
  • Good knowledge of credit approvals involving first line and second line of defence to Risk Look Back reporting to ensure the correct approval levels.
  • Ensuring SCO Call Reporting is accurately recorded.
  • Working with Mortgage Insurance (collateral) reconciliation with External Vendors
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Libor Exception Reporting
  • Capturing all moratorium initiatives/relief amendments to the loan agreements for clients.
  • Proficient in preparing US regulatory reports for OCC & FRB: H1/H2 filings, CCAR
  • Strong understanding of Swiss data privacy and PII data sharing.
  • Adhoc regulatory requests and audit preparation
  • Proficient in building and Designing dashboards for Salesforce/recommendations for GUI’s.
  • Reconciliation between Credit and Operational systems to highlight any breaks.
  • Understanding of Systemic workflow tools to ensure we are compliant with reporting SLA.
  • Produce regular MI reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI for EMEA Lending business
  • Work with Business stakeholders and system end users to assist in gathering and understanding data requirements.
  • Create mapping between source to target systems . Code and unit test mapping routines to transform the data.
  • Maintain technical mapping documentation for access to wider business.
  • Contribute to the creation of processes, standards, procedures, controls for any regional reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with Business Risk & Control team to provide business feedback for MCA results monitoring methodologies and tools.
  • Implement various KRI and KPIs to enhance regional/global reporting

Portfolio Management

  • Understanding collateral evaluations based on approved concentration limits.
  • Familiarity with mitigating strategies, including loan-to-value and loanable value.
  • Competent in performing underwriting Quality Control and credit management checks, checking contractual term sheets.
  • Understanding Performing stress testing and reviewing documents of valuations/appraisals - CRE.
  • Monitoring and ensuring all Annual reviews of Credit approvals are completed.
  • Performing Remedial Management, both performing and non-performing.
  • High level of understanding and working with Approval Frameworks/Checklists of products, Check Approval levels, RAC compliance and deviations, Legal Documentation Checklist.
  • Knowledge of calculating, tracking of key risk indictors including ageing.
  • Experience of working in a Transformation/Strategic project at organizational level to achieve standardization across products and regions.
  • To be able to comfortably perform Management Control Assessment monitoring methodologies and tools.
  • Issue management and resolution of corrective action plans.
  • Senior Management stakeholder management to support and provide recommendations.
  • Staffing tool to determine time and cost analysis for FTE review.
  • Familiarity with product program standards and attestation processes.
  • Monitoring of additional liquidity premium charged to the business to ensure the correct base rate is charged to the client.
  • Familiarity with fee structures for all products across the lending business (Commitment, LC, Unused, Anniversary, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Non-accrual, Counter Party Credit Risk, Margin Lending and Capital Market Transactions, Commercial Real Estate, Art, Unsecured and the RRE Portfolio.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Auditable documentation to support portfolio reviews. Which consist of (Past Due/Forecast interest, Past Due Amortization, Past Due/Forecast Facility Maturities, Past Due/Forecast CA Maturities, Past Due/Forecast Covenants, Troubled Debt Restructures.
  • Translating technical data to simple language and giving recommendations and conclusions to stakeholders
  • Analysis of client data content including interpretation of product information
  • Working closely with clients, actuarial teams and other departments to maintain quality and integrity of the data being captured.
  • Collaboration with Clients, Business (Actuarial teams), Technical Accounting and IT Teams to ensure implementation are in line with business priorities and requirements.
  • Review of control activities for Lifecycle Management of data and information for EMEA.
  • Contribute to and support the strategic vision for this team by enabling the implementation roadmap to execute accordingly
  • Constructively contribute to new and existing policy and regulatory requirements across Global Wealth Management workstreams
  • Constantly improve processes, controls and efficiencies within the group
  • Contribute to projects and provide valuable input with various working groups created to enhance performance and efficiency
  • Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers (production of MIS to internal/external stakeholders
  • Expert in reading and interpreting complex credit agreements
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management both within the lines of business and across multiple stakeholders
  • Highly developed analytical and decision-making capabilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose and execute solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to multi-task through the practice of strong organizational and time management skills with experience in continuously following-up with various stakeholders and execution team

  • Track record of establishing key operating standards and KPIs/metrics with the achievement of leading team to meeting / exceeding these standards

Data Governance

  • Coordinating product governance forums and ensuring the accurate forecasting of key metrics for accrued interest.
  • Maintaining and improving end to end Data Governance requirements and to manage sensitive data effectively and to ensure issues are being appropriately tracked to resolution.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in large financial institution within Global Wealth/Private Banking is a must
  • Prior experience in working in audit function is a plus
  • Deep Understanding of lending rules and regulation is needed
  • Intermediate level experience with exposure to transaction reporting tools including Cognos, Tableau, Power BI & Salesforce
  • Ability to use a range of programming languages to transform big data into data sets including Pearl, SQL, VBA
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
