Role Mission

We are seeking a creative, experienced, enthusiasticClinical Scientistfor our Cardiovascular & Metabolism Therapeutic Area within the Early Developmentdepartment. As aClinical Scientistin Cardiovascular & Metabolism Early Development, you will be responsible for thescientificdevelopment and implementation ofCardiovascular & Metabolismclinical studies.You will be engaging with Therapeutic Area Experts, Investigators, and regulatory agencies for expertise in the early clinical development strategies forCardiovascular & Metabolismprojects.

Your Impact

You build and implement the development strategy at theclinicallevel, working closely with counterparts inpREDfunctions andLate Stageproduct development and commercialization,

You ensure that the overall clinical vision and strategy for specific Cardiovascular & Metabolism projects is implemented,

You develop and communicate clinical strategic options that consider speed, technical, regulatory,businessand operational needs,

You serve as acentralClinical Scientistfor Cardiovascular & Metabolism clinical projects (Phase 0 through end-of-Phase 2) and cross-functional stakeholders within the matrixed early development community,

You provide clinical development strategies for Cardiovascular & Metabolism Discovery teams (Pre-Phase 0) with respect to strategic fit and clinical developability of individual projects

You contribute on Project Teamsand on Clinical Expert Teamsincentralroles such asClinical ScientistorMedical Leader

You build and support business development strategy and opportunities with clinical assessments and clinical development plans

You represent the Cardiovascular & Metabolism Early Development team both internally and externally at conferences and international meetings

Your Profile

  • PhD,MD,PharmD (or equivalent)

  • Significant experience in pharmaceutical or drug developmentand excellent understanding of all aspects and scientific and clinical methods used in early-stage drug development

  • Collaborative leadership. The role requires ateamleader who inspires diverse individuals to work together, persuades others to pursue innovative ideas and can work with a large number of partners across theorganization

  • The candidate will articulate strategic clinicaloptions and scenariosto inform operational delivery of the project(s). The candidate understands how to focus on the delivery of goals, and will have the ability to contribute strategic insights to prioritization anddecision-making

  • Ability to communicate effectivelyand good track record of scientific excellence that has significantly impacted research anddrugdevelopment
