Head of Marketing and Business Development (XS21-B-01)

Xsensio is a Swiss start-up company developing a unique Lab-on-SkinTM sensing platform to sense in real-time biochemical information at the surface of the skin, providing unprecedented real-time information about our health and wellness, in a simple and non-invasive way.

To strengthen our team (EPFL Innovation Park, Lausanne, Switzerland), we are looking for a:

Head of Marketing and Business Development   (XS21-B-01)

Roles and Responsibilities:

As the Head of Marketing & Business Development in a fast-paced cross-functional team, you will be responsible for developing our Lab-on-SkinTM product roadmap across consumer health and medical applications, and craft and implement a strategy to create B2B collaborations & sales opportunities. You will play a hands-on role on the team as the main marketing person at the beginning, and be in charge of:


  1. Identifying customer unmet needs and monitoring global market trends and competition to define the company’s overall positioning, value proposition and go-to-market strategy across different markets.

  2. Working closely with the R&D and product development teams to shape the direction of product development efforts according to the market opportunities to be targeted.

  3. Developing the company’s hardware and software business development strategy and implementing it through partnerships with large corporations to integrate our Lab-on-Skin™ solution into their own pipeline of products and services.

Requirements  :


  • 5+ years' experience in strategic marketing and / or business development roles, with proven track record successfully taking an early-stage technology from lab to market in the consumer health or medtech industry.


  • Strong experience in upstream marketing, in particular launching and managing market analyses and customer focus groups to understand unmet needs, and translating the findings into sound forecasting models to help prioritize new commercial opportunities.


  • Strong experience in B2B business development, building R&D collaborations and strategic partnerships with external organisations.

  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, strategic thinker with excellent project management skills in a small cross-disciplinary organization with an ability to prioritize, plan and deliver under tight deadlines.

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills in English and French (German a plus).

  • Hardware startup experience (experience in an early-stage deeptech university spinoff a plus).

  • Digital health industry experience (experience with monetization of both hardware and software a plus).

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field (medical field a plus).

  • Advanced training in marketing, sales or business administration (MBA a plus).

Date: as soon as possible
