To complete our creative and dynamic team in Lausanne, we are seeking a:
Quality Engineer (100%)
Starting date: as soon as possible
Your role:
As a Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Operation team and will be reporting to the Head of Quality.
You will fulfill a quality engineer role in both the "Product" and "Process" dimensions, acting as a leader in the identification and resolution of problems related to the quality of products, processes, suppliers and customer claims.
You will ensure that both existing and new products meet specifications, that systems, processes and procedures are under control, acting as a coach and a Quality ambassador of the organization/ team to facilitate quality at root.
What you will own:
- Lead customer claim internal management: coordinate root cause analyses, define corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure timely and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Early involvement in new projects to establish a strong quality mindset from the concept phase, defining quality requirements, testing and validation plans, risk analyses (FMEA), and control plans.
Support production team in solving complex quality or process issues using structured problem-solving tools - Supervise the Quality Alerts database, by ensuring root causes are identified, corrective/preventive actions are taken and follow up on their effectiveness.
- Act as the “voice of quality” across the company, promoting quality principles (FMEA, SPC, 8D, DOE, Ishikawa, etc, …), standards, and continuous improvement culture at all organizational levels and through all the product/process lifecycle.
- Support the validation of new SW and FW releases from a quality perspective
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product and process conformity throughout development and serial production.
- Participate in internal and external audits (ISO 9001, customer, supplier) and follow up on audit findings.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation such as control plans, inspection instructions, and quality checklists.
- Monitor and analyze quality KPIs (scrap, rework, claims, first pass yield) and drive improvement actions.
- Support the qualification, approval, follow up of new suppliers and components when needed.
- Propose and contribute to any continuous improvement initiatives
- Actively participate in the control of product/process changes together with the PLM engineer
- Communicate to the Management any problem, proposal, idea or remark likely to improve the relations and/or the organization of the work in the factory
Your profile:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, preferable in mechatronic Engineering, Micro technology or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of work experience as a quality engineer, working in a manufacturing and/or R&D environment is preferred
- Good analytical & problem solving skills, ability and have the willingness to go deeper to details
- Good knowledge of statistical techniques
- Experience with SW development and validation is a plus
- Fluent in French and English
- Good communication, organizational, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Responsible, precise, rigorous, team player and have a structured working style
- You are eager to learn new concepts, skills, and tools that you might need to complete your assignments
