In this new position, you are contributing to the next generation of Process Automation devices. This work is a cornerstone of the realization of the GF Piping Systems Process Automation Strategy 2025. As an R&D Engineer for Process Industry Sensors, you will play an important role in the internal activities of GF Piping Systems, concerning conceptualizing next-generation solutions and bringing them to series production readiness. You will work on setting up the GF Piping System Process Automation embedded technology on a common framework. You will work with a partner network on a global scale by applying agile methodologies. With your proactive attitude, you will work in an international environment and you can fully live out your passion for innovation and technology.
Your tasks:
- You will develop the basis for the next generation of GF Piping Systems' leading-edge sensors.
- Using your experience in several technical disciplines, you will independently design complete sensors on a sample basis and refine them to series production readiness
- You will also involve external partners and internal colleagues
- You will create prototypes and validate them in the in-house laboratory as well as in the field
- Together with product management as well as with the requirements engineer, you systematically gather requirements for the solution and document the technical specifications for the serial product
Your profile:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, software engineering, or similar
- At least 5 years of experience in the development of physical products in an industrial environment, including experience in software and electronics development
- Extremely independent way of working as well as the ability to take a pragmatic, yet very goal-oriented approach
- Passion for applying new technologies as well as finding sophisticated solutions based on proven technologies
- Process industry experience is a plus
- English and German language skills at a professional level
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the USA
