Global Strategy and GTM Senior Manager

Icebreaker and Smartwool are looking for an exceptional Senior Manager, Global Strategy and GTM to join our team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Our portfolio’s purpose is to transform the synthetic performance apparel category with merino-based, responsible product and brand solutions.

Let’s Talk about the Role

You as Sr Manager Global Strategy and GTM will provide strategic portfolio guidance, problem solving, critical thinking and analytical support to Smartwool and icebreaker. You report directly into the Global Brand President. A successful candidate will create value for our portfolio organization through passion for the brands, ability to network across a diverse set of geographies, independent project leadership, clear communication and excellent presentation skills.

How You Will Make a Difference

You will achieve this by:

  • Applied strategy: Identify strategic growth opportunities for Smartwool and icebreaker.  Work closely with business leaders to clarify key strategic questions, and define strategic choice cascades for short and long-term planning
  • Operates with discipline: drive the execution of the Go-To-Market agenda with proven and sufficient building blocks of growth, based on consumer-centric design and within a winning business model.
  • Brand management: drive the global consumer KPIs by excelling in the understanding and execution of consumer target definitions, insights and claims.   
  • Quantitative Analysis: Scope, plan and (if needed) execute quantitative analyses that will yield critical answers to the questions at hand. Understand required data sets to complete the analyses and procure them accordingly. Manage the delivery of timely, accurate analyses
  • Stakeholders Management: Communicate effectively, at the most senior levels of the organization. Comfortable to work with and in front of groups. Lead the development of presentations for senior executives that are impactful, concise, and defect-free.

Skills for Success

  • Extensive years in strategy, brand management  and/or experience at management consulting firms or equity research roles with a focus on consumer-led industries
  • Structured, logical thinking and analytical rigour: ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and quickly form hypotheses against which to test analyses
  • Ability to facilitate large groups in workshops and bring the group to constructive and agreeable solutions.
  • Experience with providing decision support to senior business leaders; including sizing value pools (e.g., channel, categories, consumers), and identifying relevant forces of change (e.g. trends, disruptors)
  • Creative thinking, combining out of the box mindset and ability to question the status quo
  • Powerful communication: ability to communicate persuasively, both verbally and written; ability to influence others through the use of both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Effective influencing skills and ability to lead cross-functional, -business, and -cultural teams to action
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial, proactively pursues action when opportunities present themselves
