About the job:

• Provide legal advice and support on regulatory matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Advise on corporate legal matters, including contract negotiations, corporate governance, and M&A activities
• Handle employment law matters, including employee contracts, terminations, and dispute resolutions
• Address legal matters arising from the bank's departments, providing guidance and solutions to mitigate legal risks
• Support product-related legal matters, including the development, structuring, and documentation of financial products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Risk, and Operations, to ensure alignment and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices, providing proactive advice and recommendations to senior management
• Draft and review legal agreements, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other advisors, as needed
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues, providing clear and concise advice to internal stakeholders
• Keep abreast of legal developments in the banking sector, attending relevant conferences and seminars
• Support and mentor junior legal team members, fostering their professional growth and development

About the candidate:

• 5 to 7 years of experience in the banking sector, with a focus on legal and compliance matters
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in the banking industry
• Comprehensive understanding of corporate legal matters, including employment law and product-related legal issues
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Fluent in both German and English; exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• High level of integrity and ethical standards
