Formed in 1921, the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) is the governing body for all international events in Jumping, Dressage and Para Dressage, Eventing, Driving and Para Driving, Endurance and Vaulting. It establishes the regulations and approves equestrian programmes for Championships, Continental and Regional Games as well as the Olympic & Paralympic Games.


FEI promotes equestrianism in all its forms and encourages the development of the FEI equestrian disciplines throughout the world, keeping the welfare of the horse at the heart of all activities.


Today, the FEI has about 130 members of National Federations and there are over 4,500 international events annually, including a number of FEI Championships and global FEI series. Over 120,000 athletes and horses are registered and women and men compete as equals.


Over 100 FEI staff are working in FEI’s Headquarters in Lausanne, ensuring the sport continues to grow and flourish, the rules are enforced, the results are processed, the international calendar is managed, and that the very values that are at the core of equestrian sport are safeguarded and promoted.

The FEI is looking for a Project Manager to join the Technology and Sport Services department with 100% rate of activity for a period of 2 years.


The position is based in Lausanne and is available immediately.


 

Purpose of the Role

The Technology and Sport Services Department provides services and support in all the area related to international equestrian sport, this includes online tools and services to National Federations, Event Organisers; Officials, Athletes, Grooms and other stakeholders for the delivery and management of equestrian sport at international level.

As part of the Technology and Sport Services Team, you will deliver new projects as well as improve the existing online platforms and services used on a day to day basis by FEI stakeholders and staff.

Your role will involve leading the development of projects for the department, including the management and coordination of third parties and partners, coordination of the deliveries, testing and releases of new solutions.

In addition, reporting directly to the Director of the department, you will assist our Technology and Sport Services Support Team by handling 3rd level support requests in order to provide quick and accurate answers and assistance to FEI stakeholders and staff.

The FEI Technology and Sport Services Department is vital for the daily workflow of international equestrian sport. As a team member, you will be able to bring new ideas and help to improve services provided to the equestrian community.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Manage the development of comprehensive online solution web and mobile based;
  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation;
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external parties, including developers, designers, and marketing, to ensure project milestones are met;
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with project goals;
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct final product testing and ensure the product meets high-quality standards and user expectations;
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources;
  • Reporting: Prepare regular status reports, updates, and presentations; and
  • Guidelines: Establish guidelines and tutorials related to projects.

Position Requirements

  • Experience as a Project Manager, Business Analyst or similar position;
  • Strong background in managing technology-based projects, including a good understanding in web and mobile application development;
  • A passion for sports or a solid understanding of the sports industry, knowledge and experience in the administration of any sport is a plus;
  • Fluent in English, spoken French is a plus;
  • Fast and avid learner;
  • Adaptability and autonomy;
  • Service oriented with good troubleshooting skills;
  • Dynamic, motivated as well as rigorous and meticulous;
  • Ability to work well within a team, under pressure, meeting deadlines and taking responsibility; and
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the organisation of equestrian sport is highly desirable.
