Your Tasks
  • Represent the company and provide daily customer support via email, phone, and face-to-face interactions
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and debug software and hardware issues in-house and at the customer site
  • Commission detectors, train our customers and provide integration support
  • Repair detectors in our lab and at the customer's facility
  • Reporting and documenting
  • Collaboration with our colleagues in our subsidiaries in the US and in Japan
  • Up to 20% travel, mostly in Europe, Asia and Oceania 
Your Skills
  • Bachelor, Master or technical school diploma in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Scripting and programming/debugging skills (mainly in Python)
  • Problem solving with logical/analytical thinking
  • A creative and solution oriented mindset to tackle technical challenges of varying complexity
  • Motivated team player/Teamwork experience
  • Ability and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work under customer pressure in different settings, environments and cultures
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
Will be considered an advantage:
  • Experience with X-ray or electron techniques
  • Good Linux CLI knowledge
  • Previous experience with customer interactions (technical support, helpdesk, etc.)
  • Chinese or German language knowledge
  • Driving license (B)

Support & Commissioning Team
The DECTRIS Support & Commissioning Team is the interface between our products and the customers at the synchrotron, in the laboratory and in industry. We analyze and solve problems in soft- and hardware, support our customers in the use of our high-end detectors and train users and partners in the use and integration of our detector systems. To achieve this, we work closely with our subsidiaries, product management, application scientists, development, production and sales on an interdisciplinary basis. With the combination of technical and scientific understanding as well as customer-oriented thinking, we want our customers to get the best out of their detector.
