As a Technical Lead in Perception for Manipulation, you lead the work to make our robots capable of understanding where and how to interact in the real world, with dexterity and precision.  You will contribute to our new and exciting project developing a novel mobile robotic system for automating tasks.

Technical Lead (f/m/d) - Perception for Manipulation

This appeals to you
  • Leading the team responsible for the development of the algorithms concerning computer vision in our manipulation pipeline. 
  • Driving the requirement engineering, concept definition and architecture of the system for detection, classification, and tracking of objects in the robot's environment. 
  • Evaluating, testing and implementing state-of-the-art methods and adapting them to our needs. 
  • System integration and building product out of cutting-edge research results. 
  • Delivering reliable software through code reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing. 
  • Writing high-performance code in Python and sometimes in C++. 
  • Working in a startup like environment within a global company, with flat hierarchies and high personal influence. 
This is you
  • Masters/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar. 
  • Passion for leading and mentoring engineers. 
  • You bring at least 5 years of relevant professional industry experience in 3D vision, object detection & tracking, and sensor fusion. 
  • You have experience interfacing and processing data from RGB and RGBD cameras for robotic applications. 
  • You are up to date on the latest developments in the field and have a strong theoretical understanding of the algorithms typically used.
  • You are very experienced in Python and comfortable with C++. 
  • You have experience training and deploying learning-based computer vision models. 
  • You like to work independently and hands-on in rapid iterations with an entrepreneurial mindset. 
  •  Proficiency in English required, basic German skills advantageous.
