Retail Planner - 1 year contract/assignment (Timberland EMEA)

Timberland EMEA is looking for an exceptional Retail Planner (1 year contract/assignment) to join our DTC Planning & Allocation team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Let’s Talk about the Role

The Retail Planner will be responsible for delivering a best in class in-season execution, reaching revenue e margin targets as well as managing inventory levels for the assigned product category.

How You Will Make a Difference

You will achieve this by:

  • Drive financial results that maximize sales, inventory and bottom-line profitability.  Manage the financial success of different departments and channels by meeting sales, gross margin, and inventory turn goals.
  • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and class. Collaborate with merchandising to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities by department.
  • Support Product Merchandising for product phasing by channel and country split during the buying process.
  • Analyze sales trends and create ad hoc reports to monitor and deep dive in-season performance to influence future buy strategies.
  • Develop knowledge of geographic and store-attribute performance and trends through data analysis and field communication.
  • Constantly review stores and product performance and implement actions to reach targets.
  • Promotion & events: weekly review of the promotional strategy to steer the business through promotions, price points and store events.
  • Analyse business and product performance, highlighting risks and opportunities and inform cross functionally.   
  • Product allocation: guarantee the right product flow in the stores and the right inventory levels. Coordinate with the DC.
  • Actively participate in weekly meeting providing key information and data to inform business decisions.
  • Coaching & developing the allocation team and set up a strong partnership and collaboration across the Planning and allocation.
  • Manage product mix and drive inventory levels, promotion and option count.

Skills for Success

  • At least 2 years retail experience desired, 2 years work experience in an analytical field desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates logical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Merchandising KPIs
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel required
  • Possesses an ability to understand financial measurements and how to impact them.
  • Must have effective communication skills in order to communicate to team members, various business contacts and management
  • Proactive and feedback-oriented attitude
