Your tasks

The Thermal Integration team is responsible for the design of the gas turbine thermodynamic cycle and its secondary air system. This includes management of interfaces to components as compressor, combustor, turbine and structural parts and matching of the individual components to an optimal engine for all operational conditions by applying a detailed performance model. A second pillar is the design of energy-efficient and robust secondary air systems for gas
turbines, combined with an effective sealing system. Aerodynamic flow path design of the secondary air system from compressor extraction to turbine blade feeds.

You will work with the team and support these activities by evaluating engine field data and develop methods and tools for air system and engine performance online monitoring and analysis as part of the transition towards a hydrogen-oriented market.

You will have opportunity for optimization of numerical models using in-house and commercial tools, as well as taking an active role in digitalization projects like creation of engine digital twins and predictive maintenance solutions.

Your profile

• Advanced studies in a technical field such as mechanical engineering, energy engineering or similar. 
• Specialization in turbo machinery, aerodynamics, thermodynamics or related fields is optional.
• Hands-on experience in programming with at least one programming language.
• Self-motivated, confident team player with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Good command of English, German is an advantage, further knowledge of Italian would be an asset.
