Overview of the Role

The Senior BioFuel Desk Analyst is part of the Market Research & Analysis Team, based in Geneva. He/She is responsible for providing high quality insights on the bios market complex. The role will report to the Group Head of Research & Analysis. He will be fully involved in the daily trading of the biofuels team sitting next to them.

Main Responsibilities

• Setup from scratch the EU biodiesel/feedstock S&Ds to forecast the market fundamentals

• Collect and update data from existing internal resources as well as external data sources

• Work in close cooperation with other desk analysts on other product demand forecasts

• Translate those into biodiesel demand applying each national mandate (EU28 with a focus on core 7 countries)

• Update estimates and build scenarios based on legislation changes

• Follow margins and arbs to update expected supply and global trade flows

• Direct communication with trading team on commercials feed market intel, S&D updates and market alerts

• Expand to other regional biodiesel S&Ds (USA, Asia) and feedstock markets

• Attend conferences and industry events

Expected Profile

• Similar first experience within a major bios market player

• Advanced university degree in Agri-industry, Engineering, Oil Economics, Refining, or Economics

• Excellent Excel skills (VBA), Python - Econometrics expertise would be a strong plus

• Autonomous and proactive, able to take initiative and solve problems

• Strong team spirit

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, French is a plus but not requested

• Good verbal and written presentation skill.
