Laboratory Technical Assistant / Lab Manager

The IMCR is part of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science of the University of Zurich. It is located on the main Irchel Campus and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and IMCR employees have full access to the central facilities of the University and the ETH. The research laboratories of the IMCR (Group of Prof. Lorenza Penengo) are interested in studying the DNA damage response and DNA replication in the context of genome instability and cancer.



Laboratory Technical Assistant / Lab Manager

Your responsibilities

We are seeking for a highly motivated and fast learning person, able to work in a team and to contribute to many different methods and research lines. Besides direct involvement in multiple research projects (ca. 60%), the job includes lab management (20-30%; organization of the lab, social activities, orders, stocks) and general duties for the Institute (10-20%).

Your profile

The successful candidate will be a flexible and independent technician, with strong organizational skills and a good sense of leadership. A solid training in cell culture, biochemistry, imaging and molecular biology techniques is required. Two or more years' experience in assisting technically multiple projects is strongly preferred. A good knowledge of both German and English languages is strictly necessary. The applicant should have a collaborative spirit, be highly motivated and dedicated to performing research of the highest quality.
