The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement.A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including the athletes, the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, the Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities,including the United Nations and other international organisations.

As the Digital Activation - Project Manager you will be resposible to act as the business lead for the development, delivery and evolution of the Athelete365 CRM, mobile application and web platform. Additionally, you will also play a lead role in the evolution of Athelete365 digital ecosystem, ensuring that it continues to foster growth across the elite-level athlete and entourage community. You will also, contribute to the overall mission of the Athletes' Department to boost interaction and engagement with athletes and their entourages.

Main responsibilities

Olympic Agenda 2020+5

  • Support the delivery of athlete-focused recommendations in Olympic Agenda 2020+5 from the Athlete365 digital ecosystem perspective.

  • Contribute to the work across the organisation and with external partners to deliver and maintain the Athlete365 digital ecosystem in alignment with Olympic Agenda 2020+5 recommendations.

Technical Development and Delivery

  • Contribute to the Athlete Communications and Digital Activation plans, objectives and priorities by establishing a digital development strategy.

  • Act as the business lead for the Athlete365 web and app, including management of the technical maintenance, additional developments, integrations and budget.

  • Act as the business lead for the Athlete365 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Content Management System solutions.

  • Ensure that the various technical solutions and processes required by the business (including sign-up and sign-in processes, integrations, technical improvements, etc.) are streamlined.

  • Act as the Athletes’ Department lead and liaise with the relevant departments to explore technological solutions that can benefit the existing Athlete365 digital ecosystem – this includes accessibility developments, AI exploration, technical translation capabilities and Search Engine Optimisation.

  • Take the initiative to identify, assess and proactively propose new opportunities and solutions.

  • Serve as the product owner for the technical integration and delivery of all athlete-facing offers, services and programmes from across the IOC, as well as programmes delivered in conjunction with Media Rights-Holders (MRHs) and TOP Partners.

  • Ensure the digital compliance of the Athlete365 technical solutions.

Collaboration and Project Management

  • Ensure that the Athlete365 digital development strategy is closely aligned with the organisational and departmental plans, objectives and priorities.

  • Incorporate the needs of the Athlete365 community throughout all Athlete365 digital development initiatives.

  • Prioritise and consider the needs of athletes, Olympians and their entourage members in the delivery and evaluation of the Athlete365 digital ecosystem.

  • Ensure that the Athlete365 digital ecosystem provides value to Olympic Movement stakeholders, in particular NOCs and IFs, as well as IOC commercial partners, by facilitating their engagement with the athlete community.

  • Troubleshoot when technical challenges arise, supporting the seamless delivery of the content, services and offers to the Athlete365 community.

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of the Athlete365 community.

  • Support the preparation of various internal and external reports by providing accurate data related to Athlete365 web and app performance.

  • Maintain a strong relationship with various departments and teams (both in Lausanne and Madrid) involved in Athlete365 digital development initiatives, including but not limited to Legal Affairs, the Technology and Information (DTI) Department, Digital Engagement and Marketing (DE&M) Department and Olympic Channel Services (OCS).

Our requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in digital, IT, communications, business or another relevant field.

  • High level of competency with content management systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of project management tools and methodology.

  • Excellent working knowledge of the corporate tools such as SharePoint, Outlook and Asana.

  • Fluent in English, with good working knowledge of French.

  • Basic knowledge of computer languages is an asset.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in project management and/or digital product development.

  • Experience leading product design projects, particularly working in cross-functional teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of CRM and customer data platforms (Salesforce and Gigya experience is a bonus).

  • Knowledge of email marketing and analytics software (Marketing Cloud and Google Analytics experience is a bonus).

  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Being an Olympian or former elite athlete is an asset.
