Site Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our Biologics organization, we are seeking a Site Automation Engineer (m/f/d) who can own the standardization and implementation of the effort to standardize the Visp Biologics Automation Recipe Lifecycle. In addition, you will also support recipe development for major growth projects across site. You will also closely work with other Automation and Operations teams across all of the Biologics Manufacturing Assets to coordinate recipe object updates, testing, documentation, and installation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Already in the routine manufacturing phase, support the implementation of the standardized recipe lifecycle approach

  • Drive the development of recipes for major growth projects

  • Author cGMP-compliant documentation (FS, Software Test Cases, SOPs, etc.) in cooperation with the Bioprocess engineer, Plant Lead, QA, and MSAT.

  • Monitor and change processes (under change control) during the start-up, qualification and production phase and participate in risk and process deviation analyzes. Can be contacted in exceptional cases (i.e. imminent production downtime, security, etc.) outside of normal working hours (response times) to support production.

  • Is responsible to create and modify shared recipe objects and special procedure and defines EC Modules according to PID. You are ultimately responsible for the recipe objects in the MES / DeltaV that run our production processes.

  • Constantly improves procedures and processes in compliance with the safety, hygiene, environmental and quality requirements in the area of responsibility.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor / Master Degree. Preferred area of study: Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related disciplines

  • Structured, focused and well organized work ethic. Solution orientated and Open-minded for new ideas

  • Expertise with MES Syncade and DeltaV is a highly desired and familiarity with other GMP systems (LIMS, SAP, MODA, etc.)

  • Recognizes risks in relation to security or compliance / GMP, discusses them and helps to rectify them.

  • Impeccable team and social skills, very good understanding of IT / process control systems. Recognizes operational optimization potential.

  • Independently implements the measures assigned to him to optimize security, costs or operational processes.

  • Ability to communicate internally and externally at higher levels; strong business understanding Strong team orientation

  • Fluent in English, knowledge in German is an asset.
