Senior Manager L&A Finance

for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel.

Position Overview

Responsible for financial support and analysis to EPD’s Licensing & Acquisition team with regards to product licensing/acquisition, company acquisition, and distribution/promotion deals across Emerging Markets, Latin America, and India business units.  Responsibilities include P&L/Cashflow model development and validation, contract negotiations and due diligence support, facilitation of Division/Corporate management approvals, and project/financial metric tracking.  

Core Job Responsibilities

• Financial Support to L&A Directors and Commercial Area/Affiliate Management:

  • P&L modeling / scenario analysis to evaluate and execute EPD transactions and strategic/company acquisitions

  • Evaluate risks/opportunities arising out of due diligence and contract negotiations – make recommendations to enhance deal value and minimize risks

• Contract Drafting / Due Diligence: Work with L&A Directors, Commercial Management, and Division/Corporate functional groups (including Legal / Quality / Operations / Regulatory / Accounting /Tax / Treasury) to support financial due diligence and contract drafting/negotiations.

• Approval Routing: Responsible for compiling all contract approval routing packages and ensuring documents are complete, accurate, and in compliance with relevant Corporate financial policies.

• Process Improvement: Implementation of new portfolio and deal management processes and tools.  Support continuous improvement and training to reduce cycle times, eliminate bottlenecks, and enhance high quality deal volumes.   

• Reporting: Coordinate and manage deal status and financial metric tracking tools/reports for communication with L&A team and Division Management.

• Internal Controls: Establish and/or ensure effective internal controls are in place. Provide guidance and counsel to L&A Directors and Regional/Affiliate Management in the areas of financial policy and procedure requirements.  Support an environment of continuous process improvement to enhance controls.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business (Accounting/Finance concentration)

• CPA and/or MBA Preferred

Minimum Experience/Training Required

• 8+ years of total Accounting/Finance experience. 

• Strong verbal/communication skills along with the ability to collaborate, negotiate and build consensus. 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities.
