Head of Automation, Business Intelligence & Data
Role Summary
As the Head of Business Intelligence, Automation & Data at Jungbunzlauer, you will lead the strategic transformation of our data landscape. You will be responsible for establishing a unified and future-ready data architecture, implementing advanced analytics and business intelligence solutions, and driving innovation through automation and artificial intelligence. Your leadership will ensure data consistency, quality, governance, and accessibility, enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions and support sustainable business growth.
The Business Intelligence organization will serve as a pivotal, transversal function across the company, collaborating closely with the Head of Business Applications, Head of Security, and all key business stakeholders. This role requires strong cross-functional leadership to ensure that BI initiatives are fully aligned with business needs, secure by design, and embedded into core operational and strategic processes.
Tasks and responsibilities
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Lead the design and implementation of a next-generation data warehouse that integrates all key data sources.
- Standardize the BI environment using a single, group-wide platform to ensure consistency, efficiency, and ease of use.
- Oversee the enhancement of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and SAP BW solutions across the organization.
- Enable interactive dashboards, real-time reporting, and self-service capabilities for business users.
- Establish governance frameworks for reporting standards and prioritization of dashboard and reporting initiatives.
- Provide training and support to promote business adoption and effective usage of BI tools.
- Lead and coordinate external suppliers for implementation
Data Governance & Management
- Define and implement a global data governance framework covering master, reference, and transactional data.
- Introduce a Master Data Management (MDM) framework with clear data ownership, quality metrics, and access policies.
- Foster data literacy across functions to enable a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Automation
- Replace Excel-based and manual processes with automated, system-driven solutions to boost accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify inefficiencies in data usage and propose improvements that enhance business performance.
- Promote modern BI and automation tools to streamline workflows and support continuous improvement.
AI & Advanced Analytics
- Develop and execute a scalable AI and data strategy aligned with business needs and compliance requirements.
- Define an AI governance model ensuring transparency, fairness, security, and ethical use of AI.
- Promote use cases and innovations that apply AI to solve business challenges and improve operational efficiency.
Data Integration & Platform Strategy
- Ensure seamless integration of data across platforms, including SAP S/4HANA (Finance, Supply Chain, etc.), Salesforce, and external data sources.
- Maintain a deep understanding of underlying data models to support reporting, analytics, and data harmonization.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, or architecture evolutions that align with business growth objectives and IT strategy.
Profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of business experience in data, analytics, or business intelligence leadership roles.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams composed of internal and external resource, operating and influencing effectively across the organization
- Experience in conducting large transformation projects (PMP certification is a plus)
- Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-wide programs covering all data aspects.
- Strong functional understanding of SAP S/4HANA modules (Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) and Salesforce data models.
- Proficiency with Analytics Cloud modern BI platforms.
- Experience in hybrid architecture, including APIs, multi-cloud, and integration solutions.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and best practices for data security.
- Capable to define tool strategy, assess market offerings, and implement scalable solutions aligned with business needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially for non-technical stakeholders.

- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
