Job Description
Clarus Capital provides asset management and wealth management services to clients across multiple geographies. Our approach is guided by the ideals of individuality and transparency, with primary focus on long-term protection of capital. Our wealthy private clients receive personalised advice at the highest level that extends beyond simple asset management services.
We are looking to expand our business activities by establishing a dedicated Kazakhstan Desk in Zurich, with the aim of strengthening our firm and offering an even more tailored service to our clients.
To support this initiative, we are seeking a Partner and Head of Kazakhstan (f/m/d) to lead the development of this new business area. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing their own client portfolio, advising clients on investment and wealth management solutions, and driving the overall growth of the Kazakhstan Desk. There is the possibility of becoming an equity partner.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and entrepreneurial professional to take on a strategic leadership role within a dynamic international environment. The preferred start date is 1 January 2026.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients from Kazakhstan
• Understand clients’ financial objectives and provide tailored investment and wealth management solutions to meet their individual needs.
• Carry out regular compliance reviews of existing client relationships in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Monitor and manage client investment portfolios, ensuring they remain aligned with clients’ goals and risk profiles.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire and onboard new high-net-worth clients.
Requirements
• University degree, preferably with a focus on Finance, Economics, or a related field (e.g., MBA or Master of Finance)
• Professional qualifications in finance (e.g., CFA or equivalent) are an asset.
• Extensive professional experience in asset/wealth management, investment, or private banking, ideally in a senior role.
• Experience working with regulatory bodies or central banks, particularly in Kazakhstan, as well as familiarity with the local regulatory framework, is considered advantageous.
• Good understanding of the local market and financial products
• Familiarity with international standards, especially Swiss banking and compliance practices, would be an advantage
• Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships is an advantage
• Business fluent in English and in Kazakh
• Good knowledge of markets and the investment management process
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced computer/technical skills – MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Bloomberg
