Job Description
The PIM Data Engineer ensures high‑quality product master data for Sika’s global Product Information Management (PIM) landscape and builds data products for upcoming projects, country rollouts, and future acquisitions. The role focuses on building reliable data foundations, pipelines, dashboards, data quality monitors, and guaranteeing that PIM data processes run consistently. The position directly supports the PIM roadmap and contributes to a coordinated, well‑structured rollout as well as maintainable PIM platform.
Main Tasks:
- Developing automations (pipelines and dashboards) for the analysis, validation, cleaning, correction and completion of product data in the PIM system and dependent systems and services
- Analyzing legacy and incoming product data to identify quality issues and deterioration trends
- Applying defined data standards, taxonomies, and governance rules when correcting and enriching product data.
- Anticipating data quality issues and suggest AI assisted cleanup processes.
- High‑quality execution and alignment to the established PIM processes and services
- Making Sika product information accessible internally and externally with the newest technology tends e.g. search, agentic search, vector database, embeddings or chatbot
Responsibility:
The PIM Data Engineer holds responsibility for data‑related processes and services within the PIM platform. The role is empowered to coordinate with stakeholders across IT, Corporate, and Business functions, ensuring that data workstreams remain aligned with the approved project timeline and governance framework. No budget or contracting authority. The data engineer has operational authority to enforce data integrity rules, request corrections, and halt uncontrolled data activities when they risk platform integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of full data engineering experience is required.
- Strong skills with Python is mandatory.
- Database, Algorithms, dashboarding principles are expected.
- Commitment to customer service and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to move between diverse types of tasks, and the desire to do so.
