HES Engineer in Building Technology

Building Technology Engineer develops various technical systems for industrial, commercial, or residential buildings: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitary installations, etc. This person will oversee projects from design to commissioning and ensuring that the systems are energy efficient.

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Develop innovative concepts for building technical systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitation, and electrical automation

• Conduct precise measurements and calculations to design efficient distribution networks for new structures

• Draft tenders to engage capable contractors for construction projects

• Supervise the entire construction and installation processes both on-site and in workshops

• Oversee the functionality of installed systems, commissioning them for use, and optimizing existing installations

• Ensure maintenance is conducted as per supplier specifications and handle any building system malfunctions in collaboration with suppliers

• Uphold 6S implementation within the facility and adhering to SUVA safety regulations

• Manage scheduled maintenance with suppliers for cranes and lifting equipment

• Resolve building related breakdowns and find appropriate solutions with suppliers

• Monitor and manage the annual maintenance budget effectively

• Collaborate with colleagues from different departments (architects, project planners, assembly teams and specialists) to explore renewable energy solutions and ensure that operations run smoothly

Our requirements:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree HES or HES-SO in Building Technology or in another related field

• Relevant experience of ideally 3 years in similar positions in a modern manufacturing environment; Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply

• In-depth knowledge of industry and Swiss law regulations in relevant field

• Proficient English language skills - both written and verbal and proficient knowledge or either German or French language

• High organizational and communication skills

• Capable of dealing with pressure, challenging others while maintaining professional manner

• Strong logical reasoning ability

• High availability and flexibility – ready to work in fast-paced environment

• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
