Presentation
The Department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Lausanne is looking for a talented full-stack programmer to continue the development and support of our established system. You will be working as part of our Barn Owls scientific team, maintaining, and updating a database and the associated Android tablet application and website, referencing several years of scientific data in our private database. We collected data on barn owls during more than 35 years. Most of the data are already in the database and we need to improve its efficiency.
Job information
Expected start date in position : 01.09.2025 or to be agreed
Contract length : 1 year, renewable
Activity rate : 30% (to be discussed)
Workplace : Lausanne-Dorigny
Your responsibilities
As a programmer, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating an application for android tablet, referencing several years of scientific data in a UNIL database.
Your qualifications
This position requires someone with excellent communication skills who will collaborate with our team of scientists to convert ideas into systems and to help identify and recommend improvements to our process.
Required Skills :
- Java - Jersey/REST with a custom ORM
- Android (Java)
- Angular / HTML5
- MariaDB or MySQL – strong database skills are necessary
- Tomcat
- Linux (Ubuntu)
- SCSS / CSS
