This is a unique opportunity for a BSc/MSc student intern to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment at the intersection of pharmaceutical sciences, process modeling and data science. About the Role
Your responsibilities:
Integrate the theoretical Capped Drucker-Prager model into a real-world industrial setting at Novartis.
Adapt the model using FEM tools (e.g. Comsol Multiphysics) to simulate the physical phenomena occurring during the tablet compaction process, including the analysis of mechanical stresses and thermal effects.
Calibrate the model parameters to match empirical data from the production environment.
Evaluate if the model accurately reflects the behavior of the compaction machinery and the properties of the tablets.
Prepare and present research findings in a final presentation and report.
Minimum requirements:
BSc/MSc degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical/Mechanical/Process engineering, Material Sicences or similar.
Knowledge of Capped Drucker-Prager model.
Good communication skills (English) and data visualization skills.
Flexible and open minded.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with multiple teams, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and multicultural environment.
Of advantage:
Experience with Comsol Multiphyisics software.
Experience in data science applied to scientific problems.
Experience in programing languages like Python.
