Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

The Head of Compliance is responsible for

(i) maintaining and keeping current the Group’s compliance governance framework,

(ii) ensuring proper education and learning in matters pertaining to integrity,

(iii) introducing and maintaining reporting and information management systems on compliance within the Group,

(iv) leading a team and network of compliance specialists.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in compliance related matters
  • Provides guidance, collaboration, and support to the implementation process for key compliance & integrity strategies, initiatives, and action plans
  • Leads the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to compliance & integrity
  • Consults with various stakeholders as necessary to ensure program effectiveness
  • Develops the Group compliance educational and training programs;
  • Ensures that compliance concerns are integrated in the Group policies and processes
  • Reviews periodically the effectiveness of the compliance & integrity program;
  • Delegates and supervises investigations on alleged violations of the SGS Code of Integrity
  • Represents SGS at compliance & integrity-related professional associations meetings
  • Performs other related duties as instructed by the Senior Vice President, Legal & Compliance

Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree in law;
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience working for international law firms, multinational companies or international organizations;
  • A plus: experience in the development and implementation of standards, policies, and compliance programs;
  • Proficiency in English

Additional Information

This position is based in Geneva and requires international business travel.
