A high performing individual contributor DevOps Engineer who will lead the adoption, enhancement and support of EG Data platform, a modern multi-tenant cloud-based data platform using automation and deployment techniques

What you’ll do:

• You will team up with peers across the organization to build an understanding of cross dependencies and shared problem solving
• You will share new skills and knowledge with team to increase effectiveness
• You will be responsible for automation and engineering of EG Data platform Infrastructure
• You will collaborate with infrastructure, network, database, application teams to en‐sure durability and availability of platform
• You will develop automation that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular with good naming conventions. You will also use software frameworks to write simpler code.
• You will compile and generate reports on major operational or technical initiatives (like RCAs) to larger groups, whether via written or oral means
• You will Implement and maintain network topology and security policies for our AWS data environment
• You will spot areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offer suggestions for improvements
• You will coordinate bringing together different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues and contributes own suggestions
• You will understand the relationship between applications, databases and technology platforms.
• You will develop and test complex or non-routine software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements

Who are you:

• 5+ years of experience in deploying and managing large-scale distributed systems.
• 3+ years of experience building automation to deploy and manage AWS infrastructure.
• 2+ years of experience working with RESTful web services and data platforms in AWS.
• A high-performing individual contributor who acts as a mentor to more junior engineers, applies new engineering principles to improve existing systems, and is responsible for leading complex, well-defined projects.
• Worked on projects based on Java or Kotlin backend.
• Good understanding of AWS infrastructure automation using Terraform or Cloud formation templates.
• Good understanding of Python, or equivalent language, and proficiency in Linux
• Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes and helm charts
• Good understanding of Kafka Infrastructure
• Good understanding of Hashicorp vault, AWS KMS and/or AWS SMS for key and security management
• You have a solid understanding of code promotion, CI/CD methodologies, and using Git for source control. Splunk / Datadog integration for logging / metrics
• You have experience working in an agile team environment conducting code walk‐throughs, peer reviews, and producing user documentation
• Maintained projects in production environments (bug fixing, troubleshooting, monitor‐ing etc.)
• Passionate about building automation to make infrastructure more robust
• ITIL experience desired, ITIL certification a definite plus
