Your responsibilities

The lab of Chromosome Organization and Dynamics has an open postdoctoral position for a protein/DNA biochemist. The major aim is to develop and validate assays for single molecule DNA imaging and micromanipulation to study essential chromosomal processes, in particular the roles and mechanisms of members of the SMC and SMC-like family of proteins. The project is interdisciplinary, combining imaging and biochemical experiments with structural biology.


The project will be conducted in collaboration with other postdocs and PhD students within the group. An optical tweezers microscope is available at the UNIL-EPFL research campus.


Your qualifications

-    PhD thesis (or planned defense at time of application)
-    Good publication record (at least one first-author publication in a reputable, international peer-reviewed journal)
-    Good writing and presentation skills
-    Curious and open mind with high motivation to excel in science
-    Collaborative and supportive esprit
-    Strong background in cell biology, biochemistry, or structural biology.
-    Affinity to microbiology
