The Role

Bristol Myers Squibb is looking to recruit a permanent Manager Accounting based in Boudry, Switzerland. Hybrid – 50% work from home policy apply to this role.

Position Summary:

This position will lead the day-to-day finance operations of Swiss based companies and branches.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Management and coaching of a team (up to 4 accountants),

- Responsible for a group of legal entities’ books, ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards and internal corporate policies and procedure,

- Ensures accuracy and timelines of the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting,

- Monthly accounting close-the-books activities / reviews including but not limited to: Revenue, expense accrual, prepayment, accounts reconciliation,

- Perform or review annual translation of financial statements from US GAAP to Swiss local statutory / local tax requirements for assigned legal entities and ensure timely compliance of statutory deadlines,

- Cross-functional project management with other departments such as Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/ Tax and affiliates to ensure correct accounting treatment of transactions,

- Leads internal and external audits.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Expectations:

- Professional qualification in Accounting and Finance,

- Minimum 5 years' experience in Accounting and Reporting in a multinational company (possibly including auditing firms),

- Similar management experience in working in a complex, matrix environment

Technical expertise in general accounting and financial principles under US GAAP, Swiss GAAP, financial reporting processes and tax laws,

- Ability for innovations to improve and update accounting and related processes,

- Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet applications (Excel) and accounting and management reporting systems (Oracle & SAP),

- Fluent in spoken and written English,

- Strong analytical, creative problem solving and process improvements skills,

- Demonstrate ability to review with attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple cross-functional tasks, changes and challenges and prioritizing work in order to meet strict deadlines,

- Strong written and interpersonal skills by promoting clear, open and transparent communication and ability to influence and build positive relationships within the organization and with external stakeholders,

- Motivating, inspiring and interested in growth of self and others.
