Mission

As the Domain Lead Data Integration Generating Insights in Informatics your mission is to empower Roche’s Pharma and Diagnostics divisions as well as the Group Functions through data excellence!

You will foster a data culture that supports data-driven decision making, and ensures that FAIR data principles, master data management, data integration, and insights and AI capabilities converge seamlessly. Leveraging a platform strategy that puts data products first you will build the foundation for transforming data into actionable insights, advancing how we use data along the entire value chain of Roche from scientific discovery to commercialization, advancing patient care.

You will be accountable for driving the strategic direction of the complementary product lines Data Platforms, Enterprise Data, Digital Integration, and Insights & Platforms in the Data Integration Generating Insights Domain and promote focus on IT Product Management and customer centricity as well as networked, agile ways of working. You will use creative leadership (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst and Coach) to unleash the potential of your team members and build an environment that fosters a great culture, a strong sense of belonging, personal growth, sharing and trust.

You will role model business partnering as an integral part of your work and will closely collaborate with senior stakeholders to empower the teams to shape the data and insights strategy, roadmaps and portfolios and co-create solutions to enhance the value delivered towards data, integration, and generating insights. Together with your Product Line Leads and Product Managers, you will closely work with the Chapters on the current and future skills and capabilities needed to drive the mission of empowering data excellence at Roche. You will champion the use of technology for the realization of Roche’s ambitions and digital transformation through convergence of business, science and technology.

What you'll be working on

The Data Integration Generating Insights Domain is accountable for defining the data technology strategy and building the solutions and platforms that enable data producers as well as data consumers along the entire value chain of Roche. The domain is entrusted with crafting a data-driven culture and fostering processes and structures that accelerate data-driven outcomes.

BUSINESS IMPACT:

  • Collaborate with executives and senior stakeholders connecting data and analytics with business strategy, driving organizational success

  • Delivery excellence; providing the technology foundations to transform data into actionable insights that empower leaders to make informed decisions

STRATEGIC VISION AND THOUGHT LEADERSHIP:

  • Align data initiatives with business imperatives by crafting and communicating a compelling narrative around data and AI’s transformative potential

  • Explore and envision how emerging technologies can reshape our data landscape and how we work

TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE AND ARCHITECTURAL MASTERY:

  • Orchestrate and simplify complex data ecosystems with a focus on the end-to-end flow of information along the value chain with architectural choices building on common platforms that optimize scalability, reuse, security, performance and total cost of ownership

  • Lead large scale programs to simplify the systems landscape and the optimization of strategic platforms

  • Ensure data quality, privacy, compliance, and consistency applying federated governance and master data management as a key foundation

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Proven pioneering leadership in data and insights, including managing large-scale platforms

  • Inspiring VACC leader with extensive experience in leading leaders and motivating people across the matrix

  • Strong team builder and change catalyst with the ability to empower teams and individuals to act autonomously and hold them accountable

  • Demonstrable experience with APIs, events, ETL, data mesh and other modern foundational technologies and concepts for data integration and services

  • Strong track record with analytics, ML and AI as well as the operationalization of data insights

  • Cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Demonstrates a strong drive to push automation, and a DevOps culture

  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business impact

  • Excellent stakeholder management and prioritization of competing business needs

  • Demonstrates an executive presence, strong business savviness, ability to navigate ambiguity, and manages complexity

  • Exceptional communicator and influencer

  • Exhibits intellectual curiosity and integrity and has a strong passion for innovation

  • Manages risks progressively and in a way that leads to opportunity
