In this position, you will work within the Manufacturing and Quality organization reporting to the Product and Supplier Quality Manager organization. The Material Return Specialist is responsible for executing transactional policies related to part/equipment returns. This position requires a strict alignment of the inventory chain of custody and procedural transactions.

You will work closely with the Procurement and Warehouse team to facilitate part returns from suppliers and returns from service.

You will be responsible for verifying credit memos are received and posted processed returns.

Furthermore, you will perform inspections, testing, and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes to ensure that company standards are met. May draft procedures and assist with troubleshooting testing methods.

Major Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the handling of Varian Return Material Authorization (RMA) process


  • Analyze and maintain statistics of returned materials (RMA)


  • Performs incoming inspections


  • Create QNotes according to the process


  • Support SQE within the entire Non-Conformance Material handling


  • Performs factory final acceptance testing


  • Participate actively in the Material Review Bord (MRB) and resulting actions


  • Provide data to Production Engineering for failure investigation


  • Request repair reports from suppliers if not received in a timely


  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized return area


What you need to bring


  • BSc or MSc in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent


  • Experience in the Medical Devices Domain, or Manufacturing company. 


  • Good structured problem-solving skills, and ability to disseminate complex problems.


  • Ability to Listen and Think


  • Auto didactic skills to quickly familiarize with new areas.


  • You are a strong communicator and thrive in an environment of mutual respect, openness, and collaboration. You motivate your environment with constructive charisma.


  • You can communicate, fluently in both: German and English.
