Procurement Manager (f/m)

Your Tasks
- First point of contact for all project related Procurement tasks, including Tendering, Orders, Contract Negotiations, Reporting (Internal and External)
- Administer the procurement process from pre-qualification, tender recommendation to order/contract commitment
- Negotiating and positioning BakerHicks and its Clients in advantageous positions when procuring goods or services in an engineering and construction environment
- Development and negotiation of terms and conditions in line with the form of contract
- Comply with BakerHicks’ and Client Quality Assurance and Management system
- Based at or attend site as required to support projects, this may involve travel and time away from the home office
- Liaise with BakerHicks’ and Client suppliers and contractors providing equipment and construction works packages, to ensure contracted compliance of their work including deliveries
- Effectively report progress to project managers for related work and take ownership for the timely delivery of purchase orders and service contracts both ‘for and on behalf of’ and direct BakerHicks orders
Your Profile
- Completed commercial or technical apprenticeship with further education in purchasing/business administration
- 10+ years’ experience as a procurement manager in the construction or related industries
- Of which 3+ years’ experience as a procurement manager in the Pharma/Life Sciences sector
- Strong knowledge of the commonly used model forms of supply and construction contracts for the DACH region, like SIA, KBOB, HOAI, and FIDIC
- High level of proficiency in the use of general Microsoft Office software i.e. Word, Excel, etc.
- Strong demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally
- Team player, willingness to work extended hours on occasions when required to meet deadlines
- Fluent in written and spoken German and English
- Flexible to travel and spend time on site as required to support projects
Traveling activity
The duration of our projects is usually between 6 and 24 months. Depending on the project and the project phase, the work location is mainly the project location at the customer, although mobile working from home is sometimes possible in consultation with the project management. At BakerHicks you have the opportunity to work with different customers and different technologies. You get to know new cities and are still always at home on weekends.
