As an R&D Senior Engineer, you will contribute significantly to technology and product development projects by identifying and implementing innovative solutions.

In this role, you will use your technical knowledge to oversee development tasks and to contribute to strategic technology plans and the project portfolio.

R&D Team Lead

Your responsibilities

  • You will strongly contribute to R&D projects in your area of expertise, by conducting feasibility studies on different AC and DC power electronics converter topologies for high current applications by performing simulation.
  • Analysis and evaluation of different power electronics converter topologies.
  • For our new products, you will be responsible for power electronics system specification preparation, selection of switching devices, protection concepts for AC and DC high current applications or similar.
  • You will be responsible for managing R&D work packages and ensuring delivery of defined scope within the time and budget.
  • You will develop IP strategy within the area of work.
  • You will work with various stakeholders from engineering, product management, sales and lead technical discussions with our internal and external strategic partners.

Your background

  • You have MSc or PhD degree in electrical engineering with power electronics systems specialization (or similar).
  • You bring more than five years of work / research experience in the field of power electronics, system engineering or related field.
  • You have strong know-how in AC and DC power electronic topologies, as well as control design for power electronics systems.
  • Knowledge in converter thermal calculation is a welcomed plus.
  • You are a curious person with growth mindset that can see both the bigger picture and details. You are a true team player versed at working in a multi-disciplinary environment. At the same time, you are a structured person with strong self-management skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of German is beneficial.
