We are seeking a Trainee in Data Analytics and Business Insights to drive the impact of our Innovation and Marketing through ownership of customer and market insights, and data management. In this role, you will embark on an exciting journey to explore the intersection of data analytics, business intelligence, and strategic decision-making. This position presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in analyzing complex datasets, developing actionable insights, and supporting key stakeholders in making informed business decisions. You will be part of the Product Management team in the Implantology Business Unit, at the Straumann headquarters in Basel. The position is temporary for one year.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate data sources for relevant business and market insights.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations, utilizing analytics tools and visualization techniques.
  • Produce insightful reports and dynamic dashboards to visualize key performance indicators and business metrics, collaborating with team members and data experts to automate reporting processes where possible.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address business questions, support stakeholder inquiries, and facilitate decision-making processes, collaborating with stakeholders to define analysis objectives.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret customer feedback to drive improvement in our product and service offerings.
  • Develop proficiency in relevant data collection, analytics, and business intelligence tools, continuously exploring emerging technologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Support Product Managers in enhancing their data and business analytics skills by developing training materials and providing training sessions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master degree in computer science, economics, business administration, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for working with data.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical and data requirements.
  • First experience with SAP BW, AWS, Alteryx, and CRM systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in a programming language such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data platform.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or similar software.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in Voice of Customer (VOC) methodologies and tools, e.g., design of surveys is a plus.
  • Innovative mindset with eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the field of data analytics and business intelligence.
  • At least 6 months of working experience, preferably in an international matrix organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Open-minded and proactive personality with the ability to cultivate effective working relationships in an international matrix environment as well as to motivate and engage stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
