Job Purpose

The Social Media Manager is a seasoned and passionate social media expert and marketer.

The Manager is responsible for leading the MSC Cruises social media strategy, inclusive of content ideation and influencer marketing. The Social Media Manager will cultivate, engage, and grow the social media community across various owned properties, and optimize social media performance across key metrics. The manager will ideate and publish ongoing social media content and lead the influencer marketing program. The Manager will work closely with the Social Media Corporate team in Geneva, as well as with the US marketing, PR teams, and third-party agencies. The Manager will have one direct report, a Social Media Specialist. #LI-AR1

  • Maintain the monthly social media calendar
  • Ideate and brief social media concepts based on overarching content strategy and business needs
  • Manage the briefing, execution and scheduling of all social media posts
  • Monitor and report on owned content performance and optimize performance of owned social channels based on key metrics inclusive of reach and engagement
  • Develop social media activation plans and campaigns that maximize impressions, reach and engagement rates for new ship launches and inaugurals
  • Build and drive the influencer strategy and program
  • Maximize user generated content library and opportunities
  • Report on competitive performance, emerging social trends, best practices and new social features
  • Work with media manager to update paid social creative and execute on new paid social content across various social channels
  • Brief video editors, designers and social content producers and third-party agencies on social ideas on a weekly basis or as needed
  • Manage content timelines and reviews
  • Brief and manage influencer agencies and/or influencer process internally
  • Manage the Social Media specialist and drive outputs and oversee her scope inclusive of Community Management and Crisis Management

Knowledge And Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, orCommunications; or any equivalent combination of relevant education and/or workexperience. MBA preferred

EXPERIENCE: 6+ years of organic social mediamarketing experience and influencer marketing experience

  • Proven track record of managing effective social media programs for large and reputable brands
  • Active social media user with robust working knowledge of all notable social platforms and a curiosity for understand emerging trends in the space
  • Advanced experience with major social media platforms as well as emerging platforms (i.e. TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Youtube, & X)
  • Familiarity with social media reporting and KPIs
  • An understanding of community management and crisis management
  • Experience with influencer marketing strategy and analysis
  • Working knowledge of social media tools such as: Hootsuite, Social Studio, Stackla, Sprout Social, BrandWatch, Netbase, Facebook Business Manager, Facebook Page Insights, Instagram Analytics and Twitter Analytics.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills with proven examples of successfully partnering with internal team members and external vendors to drive programs forward.
  • Exceptional written skills with storytelling ability and possession of visual brand identity skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously in an environment with changing business demands.
  • Demonstrated strength and ability to lead social media planning and execution.
